Extrapolation and statistics based on casualties from midrange artillery and drone strikes. In some regions it’s claimed that only one in every ten troops actually makes it to the dugout. It’s not all enemy contact though. The Russian military has a prison gang problem.
Iirc, Ukraine and Ukrainian media are the source for individual rates in this or that flashpoint. Russian social media….or what’s left of it, would seem to confirm.

My favorite site for downloading NFL games is Russian. It's been down the past few days. It occurs to me this morning that it might be a casualty of war.

The Russian Duma is warning of economic collapse triggering a 1917-style revolution this year:
"We've told [Putin] ten times, the economy is bound to collapse...If you don't take immediate action...in the fall we'll face what happened in 1917."
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It would be a great news assuming that only February revolution would be repeated.

I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Politicians have a gift for guessing wrong about economics, second only to that of economists.

I'm not. I don't think that revolution will repeat but if it did then well, it would be a great news.

More likely simply become a dystopian hellhole with continual civil unrest and violent suppression.

Not everyone agrees about the Russian economy. The current fiasco with Iran is driving up oil prices, which helps Russia.

And the idea that a revolution in Russia would give us someone better than Putin in charge is a fantasy. People who have convinced themselves that Putin is Satan probably think that no one could be worse. But someone could be a lot lot worse.

More a crap shoot than a fantasy, but I take your point.

It's not going so great for Russia even if they have been allowed to sell oil because Ukraine is bombing their refineries with drones, like the Tuapse oil refinery, one of Russia's key Black Sea exports.
