Russia and Ukraine

Not killing as many people as possible is seen as bad. If your weapons are really top quality, you're just going to kill as many as you can.

Restraint is weakness. The New York Times only respects violence.

How you got that conclusion I will never know because there's no logical (nor any illogical) path from what you quoted to what you wrote.

When I put you on ignore, I just thought you were a troll level shitposter, imagine my surprise to see that you're also an amoeba brained conspiracy theorist as well.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I still don’t understand how helping a smaller country fight off a larger aggressor country somehow makes the United States evil. At most it points to an inconsistency in American foreign policy, but ‘evil’? I don’t get it.

I’m just thick, I suppose.

The contents of these articles may or may not be true. No one posting on this thread really knows.

We do know that the first two sources cited are funded and operated by the US government and have always pushed the official government line. These are not objective, independent sources. If a source is funded and operated by Russia, we should be equally wary of that.

The Times is owned by Rupert Murdoch, was strongly Thatcherite, and is well-known for pushing dubious ideological narratives, including the idea that HIV doesn't lead to AIDS. It is a source to be skeptical about.

Haaretz is actually more sympathetic to an oppressed people (the Palestinians) than the New York Times. I do not know their history concerning Russia. Historically, Israeli media has strong opinions on Russia.

So, again, we don't know whether these stories are accurate or not. We do know that as skeptical people who are wary of propaganda and think for ourselves, these are sources to be very wary of.

How is that morale going?

Quote:2 attackers opened fire on volunteer troops preparing to deploy to Ukraine

Eleven people were killed and 15 wounded in an armed attack this weekend on a Russian military training ground for troops preparing to deploy to Ukraine, according to Russian authorities.

Russia's Defense Ministry said in a statement two armed assailants opened fire Saturday morning on a military training ground for volunteer fighters in the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine.
