Russia and Ukraine

А hilarious prank. A group of Russian anti-war activists created an online profile of a "patriotic poet" Gennady Rakitin, with AI-generated image as an avatar. All of his posts were translations of the German Nazi poetry. His subscribers included more than a hundred of politicians, members of parliament, Putin's advisors on culture, prominent milbloggers, etc. Eventually, he was awarded a prize for the poetry - the German Nazi poetry, that is. The Russian fascists found their soulmate.

They dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. That's the only thing making me still somewhat worry about nuclear war. The fact it's happened once before.

One was also dropped on Nagasaki.  It's happened twice before.

Yeah, so that does give me some pause. Shouldn't we be worried about nuclear war if nuclear bombs have happened before?

We were taught to hide under our desks at school.  Maybe you can find a desk to crawl under so you will be safe.

I doubt that will help survive a nuclear blast.

1) Japan had no deterrent. NATO has at least three nuclear deterrent forces.

2) We nuked Japan to avoid invading Japan and suffering horrendous losses. Russia has already invaded and already suffered horrendous losses.

Russia is in over its head with Ukraine. The last thing it wants to do is add all of Europe and North America to its enemies list.
