I would punish people for treason when their religious views lead them to attempts at overthrowing democracies.  Namely, Dominionists and almost everyone Republican, Trumpists, and White Nationalists.  Those groups usually intersect and are almost always one and the same.  The penalty I would demand is life imprisonment and/or death.  You don't coddle or tolerate that kind of human evil.
Okay so now I have to ask, what makes those groups so evil? Beyond an obviously immature knee jerk reaction on your part.

It is evil because these groups have used their faith in arrogant attempts to subvert democracy. It is all about power and control: they want power to dominate society and government to exert control over people's lives and exert undue influence in areas of individual rights where it is none of their business, all in the name of their god, Jesus, the Bible, and religious liberty. These groups claim it is their right to use their faith, their brand of religion, as a weapon against people whom they consider undesirables: liberals, LGBTQ+, freethinkers, atheists, intellectuals, scientists, and progressives. My reaction may have some emotion in it, but it is neither kneejerk nor immature. It is heartfelt and serious, as I take my and my fellow humans liberties and the U.S. Constitution and democratic principles seriously. I revere America's Founding Fathers' and their establishment of my country, the United States of America, human as they were, not being perfect, seriously. I also take threats against me and my people seriously. Certain Domininionists have made threats, both veiled and open, against liberals, atheists, and secularists in general. I have read their material and seen videos they posted. Anyone can search for examples if they so wish. But make no mistake Dominionist! I and my people did not start this culture war. I am willing to finish it, and I dare say I am not the only one who thinks or feels this way. I rather live in peace. So just speaking for myself: I am no pacifist, neither am I doormat. You Dominionists want to make me and my people enemies, then so be it. I am not above joining in a hot war against Dominionism, Conservatism, and Republicans.

Yeah that's great. But the good guys only win in fiction.

Stop feeding this entity with an obvious mental/personality disorder. You're not helping him, you're enabling him.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

All 5 children killed June 20, 2001, all murdered for religious reasons. And that is just a single case

Wanna ask them what choices they had? Well, you can't because they are dead.

And the mothers motive? She is going to hell, but her drowned kids get a free pass into heaven so she has done a good thing.

That is the kind of porridge religion intentionally turns peoples brain into.

Of course, Belacqua will rock back in and claim that is an outlier. Nope. We are only getting warmed up on the harm religion does to children.

Strange how you're always called a troll, yet you're the most sensible person in this conversation.

Yup. She's not advocating violence. She's tolerant of religious people with children. She recognizes the obvious fact that many people get pleasure from punishing others.

Not everyone can manage these very sensible positions.
