I think I could support punishing people who would punish religious people for being religious.

Some beliefs are fine to push on society, but we're going to draw the line at religious beliefs? The hypocrisy is mind blowing,
Anyone can try to push any belief they want - I don't have to listen. The problem is that many majority religions don't accept that position.

More to the point that, just as some beliefs are fine to push on society.... your basic humanity as a person despite all that melanin, for example...others are not. There's a strange preponderance of those ideas in the current crop of religions...but it never had to be that way (and still doesn't). It's a testament to the unique qualities of the theistic con that it so thoroughly corrupts the people who believe in in most ardently. To the point that their belief escapes the relatively victimless confines of their own head..and gets out there in the world, hurting people. Religion could police itself, but if it doesn't, and if it goes so far as to reject that notion, then it should consign itself to being policed...and that's how that actually panned out, in mere reality, fwiw.
Many christian denominations are merely immoral - and so "punishment" hardly rounds up to anything more than pointing out that they're assholes. But the super jesus freaks religion is immoral..and criminal. They only escape legal penalties insomuch as they fail to actively practice it - but, hey, give em credit for being dreamers, right?
If thinking that some beliefs are fine, and others not so much..is hypocrisy, well..I guess you'll have to count every christian in on that one. Yourself included. It takes a special kind of idiot to read the quoted text and decide that it sounds like an intolerant phobia.

I don't want to have to follow someone's rules/laws that are religion based.

Neither do the christofascists. They want everyone to have to follow their religiously based rules.

Everyone wants everyone else to follow their rules.

You probably wont be surprised to find that I couldn't sign on to that, on account of how there should be no ruling class whatsoever. That's sort of the point of democratic government to begin with.
Still..I have to ask, what do you think these contemporary christofascists did to have earned such a right, if there were one? Hell, howsabout you, Mr Christian Dominionist? What have you done, have you just passively accepted a state of existence as a given?
Or have you thought out that part of the bit yet? Remember, maximum effort, it has to be really stupid and really fucked up and it has to demonstrate the points of other people in the thread all by itself, for you to get even a single troll floren. Otherwise it's just your usual low energy derivative garbage.
