This has to be the most insidious aspect of what religion can do to the brain. But it is consistent with their idea that authoritarianism is good. They are most certainly responsible for hiding behind religion and justifying this horrifying and abusive neglect on an 8 year old. But when you worship a God that people believe does not have to explain themselves to humans, and can do whatever or allow whatever he wants, puts humans in the mere position of being lab rats. It is bad enough adults by that bullshit, but this? This is beyond contemptable.
