I have trouble getting into most books. If only there was some place where one could borrow books to see if they liked them, hmmm. But currently I'm reading the restaurant at the end of the universe. The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy was my favorite book so I'm really excited about this one.

After listening to a couple of books that were less than satisfactory, I decided to listen to Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I read it many, many years ago and am enjoying the story this time around. Long book, the Audible version is about 40 hours.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I've read all but the latest in the Kingsbridge series, and a few of his other books. His thrillers are also very good.

I just finished the third book (A Column of Fire) but struggled with that one a bit. I found myself getting bored in parts of it. I have book 4 and the prequel in my library so I hope that things pick up again and hold my interest a little better.

Finished The Fellowship of the Ring, moving on to The Two Towers.
Like Christopher Lee, I re-read LOTR once a year. I don't know if Lee did this, but I always start on 22 September. Boru

Tales of Shub-Niggurath, edited by C.T. Phipps. Arguably the most unfortunately named Great Old One/Elder God/whatever she/it is.

I met a woman a long time ago who did the same thing while I was reading it for the first time. She reread it every year. I've tried rereading it, I've got the physical copies in a drawer, but I've never been able to follow through.
