So the next time a Republican is a duly-elected President, they should have the same ability? Perhaps the previous Congress should have passed a bill enabling the President to act unilaterally.
Oh don't be silly I highly doubt the next republican in charge will be elected and the Trump didn't need congress to do what he wanted his sycophants already let him essentially do what he wanted.

How can it be anti-Democratic if it’s been done by each and every democratically elected president using powers given to them by democratically elected senators and representatives?

Boru

As I have mentioned, Jayapal wanted the BBB, a massive piece of legislation, pushed as an Executive Order. Nothing on that scale has been done as an EO.

You act like Executive Orders are something that Joe Biden and the Democratic Party invented. Every President but William Henry Harrison has used them. And even he would have used them if not for the fact that he caught pneumonia on his first day in office and died of it on the thirtieth. And they've used the phrase "Executive Order" since Lincoln was President.

Again, what Jayapal advocated was that a massive piece of legislation to be made an EO. It would have dwarfed any EO.

Nope it's a power given to an ELECTED official

Run with it, I suppose? If executive orders are a bad thing..that would be terrible news for Trump and Desantis, as examples of prominent nutjobs mentioned in thread.

At least you did admit you have no problem with Democrats enacting legislation by executive fiat. Kudos. Why even have a Congress?

The size doesn't matter the law nowhere says it has to be insignificant. The rules don't change because of the size.

Making sweeping legislation law by executive fiat is not the power given to the President.

Indeed, why even have a congress if you intend to legislate by EO? You'll find this very question asked ad naus by nutjob supporters on nutjob boards.

There's a word for it.
