The Absurd GOP

Misgoverning.  They are being obnoxiously proud of stiffing their own supporters with a massive bill for whatever silly shit desantis thinks will make him president someday.  Talk about an in-kind donation.....  Why should central florida (and...can...central florida) subsidize the costs of one mans national ambitions?  If desantis insists that disney will no longer be allowed to foot this bill - then fine.  He should hand florida his own fucking wallet, no?

I'm told that you can find sympathy between shit and syphilis in the dictionary. I'm reminded of H.L. Mencken's statement that democracy is the theory that the common man knows what he wants and deserves to get it good and hard.

Spring Hill Republican Senator Blaise Ingoglia has filed SB 1248, which would be called "The Ultimate Cancel Act."

While it does not mention the Democratic party's name, it would direct the Florida Division of Elections to "immediately cancel the filings of a political party, to include its registration and approved status as a political party, if the party’s platform has previously advocated for, or been in support of, slavery or involuntary servitude."

Southern Democrats advocated for slavery during the Civil War.

"For years now, leftist activists have been trying to "cancel" people and companies for things they have said or done in the past. This includes the removal of statues and memorials, and the renaming of buildings. Using this standard, it would be hypocritical not to cancel the Democrat Party itself for the same reason," explained Sen. Ingoglia.

Showboating is both easier and more fun than governing.

11-year-old reads aloud from ‘pornographic’ book he checked out from library at school board meeting

NY Post (via a writer for Fox)

Yeah, that's not pornographic. Fucking homophobes.

I wonder if their library has One on One by Tabitha King, which I found in my school library and read, but I suppose it would be fine because the sex scenes involve a hetero couple.

MTG, during a Congressional hear, asked a woman if her two sons who died of fentanyl, might still be alive if the US/Mexico border was more secure. The woman answered, 'Absolutely.'. Greene posted the exchange, cited it as evidence of the Biden administrations failed border and immigration policies.

The woman's sons died in July of 2020, during the Trump administration.

They could've used a much more pornographic book. Maybe one that describes having testicles the size of a Donkey's.

I'm honestly becoming very depressed by the conservative rule of this country.

Biden isn't going to be reelected. The next president will be a hardcore republican.

Things in this country are about to get real bad, real fast.

Anti-woke, after all, is mere white supremacy.

Texas republicans introduced a bill to give huge tax cuts to *straight* couples having children—with up to 100% cut in property taxes for TEN kids.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Notice that the children have to born within wedlock, and must be born to the natural child of both spouses. Lesbian couples needn't apply.
