Doesn't that mean that her majesty would rot?

It just puzzles me.
It should be known that the house of "shag-at-see"; or the "British political house" was responsible for inflicting misery's on humanity like the unlimited support for the dictators of the Saud ruthless clan.

The queen's casket doubles as a slow cooker. They just keep it on the keep warm setting to discourage the growth of bacteria.

Embalming can slow things down a bit though

Also freezing (an option that both Adam Ruins Everything and Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski turned me on to, though they championed it for very different reasons), but I don't think the Royal Family chose that option.

Isn't it strange that we've decided that a persons refusal to rot quickly, and all sorts of methods to prevent them from doing so, are the good things?  The things we should do, the things that indicate some value or worth or state of affairs?

I'm over here thinking "yeah, that the earth doesn't want that one back." So many stories about incorruptible bodies, and we chase it in our own deaths with burial rites and practices...but a rapid decomp would..to me, suggest that something actually does want them, tut sweet. Personally - I want to be buried naturally on my own property. Only reason I'd want to be kept in a freezer is if I hoped to butchered......

I don't want to be burned, I don't want to be embalmed, I don't want to be stuffed into a cold box, I don't want to be autopsied. I'd never consent to any of that shit, and nobody can even ask me for my consent when I'm dead...so. In a hole... for the safety of the living who remain...going back to where I came from. I consider anything else a violation of my corpse. If anyone ever violates my corpse..that's blood debt, fuckers - and I have alot of kids.

Embalming first became popular for funerals sometime during the Civil War, if my research is accurate. At that point, it was more or less a necessity for soldiers whose families would have preferred their sons be buried where they lived and not near the battlefield. The decision to give Abraham Lincoln's corpse a farewell tour for a few weeks after his assassination made it the next big thing, and then things snowballed from there up to a bunch of set ideas that become largely enforced by a combination of cultural conventional wisdom and this one corporation that turned into a monopoly that controls most everything about funerals.

Make their coin abusing the planet and it's people at the same time. Very efficient operation.

I used to opt for cremation, but I long ago decided to go the compost route.

As far as I'm concerned, when I die (and I will die - I won't "pass away") they can take whatever bits they want for transplant or research, the rest can go for cat food

At this point, I’m thinking something like this.

And by “something like this”, since neither James Gunn nor the many people with access to the decades of Marvel lore have made clear what’s actually supposed to be happening beyond the Ravagers finally accepting Yondu back into the fold, I’m assuming that they cremated his body and put the ashes into those fireworks. And no, I don’t know how those fireworks are even going off in the vacuum of space.
