I will nearly wreck a car trying to turn off the radio if that song comes on.

Also, anything at all by George Thorogood.

Yup.

Never saw the appeal.

Especially "One bourbon, One scotch, and one beer"!

Yes, Bon Jovi generally makes me want to gouge out my eardrums with a dull tablespoon. Most hair-metal, matter of fact, arouses that same response. Chicago post-Terry Kath ... it's like falling into the vat of your local syrup factory. Mariah Carey was mentioned upthread for good reason. Modern country isn't country, it's crappy pop with fake accents and sometimes a steel guitar.

I could go on, but I won't.

Agree - putting on a cowboy hat or wearing cowboy boots does not a country singer make.

Though not my favorite genre, I am good with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and the other storytellers.

I wouldn't go out onto my front yard to listen to Taylor Swift if she were putting on a show out there.

I grew up listening to country in the house because that's what my mother listened to. I don't care for most of it. Though like awty mentioned, Johnny Cash, and some others I can handle, like Tennessee Ernie Ford or Marty Robbins. Don't get me started on that yodeling shit, though. That shit drove my dad (and me) nuts. He was a fan of the 3 Bs and all things classical. One of my sons thought that I might like some "modern country". NOPE.

That stupid song who's name ecapes me by Kid Rock which ripped off 'Sweet Home Alabama' - another song I have come to loathe and 'Werewolves of London', a song I actually do like. Why this no-talent assclownery gets airplay is a mystery to me.
