It's the history he wants - he's a disseminator, a producer rather than a consumer in this. Why would he do such a foolish and counterproductive thing?

Would a person who has been so strident in his belief that christianity’s ability to caused so many other people to believe far outweigh the significant of whether Christianity is true, suddenly revise his estimate of the value of factual validity when something seems so reaffirming for him personally to believe?
