What if Judas didn't do it?

What lead you away from christianity?

And if you were never a christian, why not? You do not find the NT convincing that Jesus is the Christ?

So, what do you think happened back then? What did the witnesses of Jesus see? Why did they consider him the Christ?

I was raised completely without religion. I have never signed up to one religion or another.

There are fantastically wise and intelligent people who are Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. etc. There are Christians from whom we should all be learning. People far smarter than I am disagree with one another, and I don't know who is ultimately correct. I am not bigoted enough to say that all the people in a particular religion are irrational or lack dignity and intellectual honesty, so I respect different kinds of people, and I don't sign up to play team sports.

I don't know exactly what happened during Jesus's lifetime. It requires a great deal of study to distinguish what is history and what is myth. Until we have done that study we have no business declaring what's what. Learning to read properly is a beginning but is not sufficient.

Do you think that any none sense is present in the NT, anything that you would say “This is obviously none sense coming from primitive humans”?

Do you think that any none sense is present in the OT?

Wow, that is some very ugly stuff.
Are you talking about this person:

Where did you find that text?
Desire of Ages.  The book John was telling us about.  She had quite a bit to say about the jews....and other things.  It seemed important to him that we knew that adventists have long believed in exactly the sort of shit you'd expect from a nutter in the 1800's. She was a casual anti semite, segregationist, and serial plagiarist who peddled quack medicine and scientific miracles derived from thousands and thousands of visions from god, so you know the stupid shit she says is legit!

You mean "nonsense," right?

Because you want to read the Bible as journalism, it will all be nonsense to you. If you read it according to the various genres to which the different parts belong, it won't.

Both the literary interpretation that The Jews had abandoned and betrayed their god and the literal interpretation about The Jew who abandoned and betrayed his god sound like nonsense to me.

Judas came to Jesus looking for a job. Jesus said, ‘Okay, you can tag along if you like, but there’s no money in it.’ Judas, tired of making no money, sold his boss to the authorities to be killed.

Like we all haven’t thought about doing that…

A fun one, but it doesn't really escape the greedy jew motivation - and stands at odds with the narrative details if we're imagining a real boy. Magic book has him pegged as, essentially, a dirty accountant who was making money. No reason to end the grift.

To understand that, one has to leave fantasies about a real boy entirely behind. The Jew betrayed god because it had become clear to The Jew that the messiah would not, in fact, be overthrowing rome or restoring israel or any of that silly shit that The Jew believed in. This was the reason that The Jew handed christ over to the romans. The Jew stealing from the moneybag is, itself, a rather transparent allusion to ot narratives about race traitors availing themselves of the gifts of their god while simultaneously rejecting the ethnic purity it demands. In gentile minds, just as The Jew accepted and abused the stewardship god granted him, The Jews accepted and abused the stewardship god had exclusively granted them before as extemporized by the various redneck prophets of the OT railing on and on about their version of inner city crimes.

In a nutshell, it's a story attempting to explain why and how the jewish people could come to reject and ultimately kill their own god - which was a real headscratcher for christian curious pagans. Ultimately, the only answers that could even -be- in the wheelhouse of accuracy are fundamentally incompatible with christian belief. That there was no jesus christ who proved his godhood to a single jew or many. More generally, that christianity is wholly inconsistent with and completely heretical to the jewish faith. Challenges on factual and foundational grounds simply cannot be admitted in the mind of a cultist - and most of those cultists already hated jews anyway.

You know..if the romanizers hadn't hated jews so much, christianity might have come out of the cauldron a life affirming rather than life denying religion. It may have had a more positive view of humanity in general. The story works on many levels and with many interpretations, just as insisted - the trouble being that every one of them is a raging dumpster fire.

We can't know the answer to your question because he did do it.

It's fiction.

In that context he is the bad guy in the story.

If the authors didn't put it on Judas, it would have been someone else.

Still fiction.

Then the question is meaningless.

It is not because even many Republicans tackle that question that Jesus could have survived, like when Lauren Boebert claims Jesus “didn’t have enough AR-15s to keep his government from killing him.”

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
