What does that have to do with anything? We are talking about nutritional science here, not medical science. And you don't need a PhD to understand that taking heme iron to prevent anemia is not a good idea.

Might be referring to your 50% survival rate which is woefully inaccurate. It's also the most preventable and early detectable cancer. Maybe it was a sarcastic refrence to how you are wrong about that "50%" of yours?

If it's not a good idea, why do so many people WITH medical degrees prescribe it (either taking heme supplements or including some heme-rich foods in a diet)?
Also, have you looked up the requirements for a 4-year degree in nutritional science? Course work includes things like biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, genetics, and molecular biology.

Well, this source claims that, in Croatia, the odds of 5-year survival of colon cancer are 51.5%, and that, in the developed countries, they are around 65%. So I was not very wrong.

It's a different thing if you know you actually have anemia and that it's actually caused by a lack of iron. In that case, maybe taking heme iron supplements is justified. In general, it certainly isn't.

Dude, 95% of the iron in your body IS heme iron. When that percentage drops, the obvious thing to do is replace it, with either diet or supplements. You don't need to be a Croatian philologist to understand that taking iron is a reasonable treatment for iron deficiency.
I'm unsure why a doctor would prescribe iron for someone who is not iron deficient.

Dude, what's your point with that? For almost everybody, the vast majority of cholesterol in their blood is LDL. Would you argue that it's therefore somehow a good thing? That would be silly, obviously.
I don't know whether heme iron or free iron is a better treatment for iron deficiency. Both have side-effects. The heme iron side effect of significantly increased colon cancer risk is life threatening, though, and I don't know whether free iron has any life-threatening (rather than just uncomfortable) side effects. Heme iron is better absorbed, though, especially in people who are deficient in Vitamin C (which is about 12% of population). It would be interesting to do a study comparing all-cause mortality of anemic patients who take free iron versus those who take heme iron. I don't know what to expect. But what I do know for certain is that taking heme iron increases all-cause mortality in the general population, particularly the agonizing deaths from colon cancer.

I think it's amazing, given the full spectrum of your beliefs about meat and veganism, that you consistently think everyone must be wrong about everything...rather than wonder if you were aggressively sold on something that isn't strictly true.

What do you think is that I believe that isn't strictly true? That ingesting heme iron significantly increases your chances of getting colon cancer? That seems to both be based on evidence and be a scientific consensus. You may argue it is less certain than, for example, saturated fat causing heart disease (because that's the theory that statins are based on, and medicine is a harder science than nutritional science), but it's about as certain as nutritional science by itself can get.
