Seems that even if no babies happen it could be a fun competition.

This can no longer be called breeding, I guess lol.

You can pretend whatever you like Fool.  Once having had an evolutionary benefit does not make it not pointless now. You apparently have half a brain cell to not see that ....Fool  Hehe

Quote:This just means that other systems are also beneficial, that's not a defeater.
Actually, it is a defeater because there is nothing the religion really contributed it was simply a redundancy and thus pointless. Just like I said ...Fool  Hehe

Any other foolishness you wish to throw out there....Fool  Hehe Hehe Hehe

The Euthyphro of Fucking. Are people who believe religious bollocks likely to fuck more, or are people who fuck more likely to believe religious bollocks?

Seems you've got a chicken and egg problem.

It doesn't matter as your assertion is false. Fucking correlates with economic conditions, not religiosity; it's just a curious accident that religion is popular among poor people in many places.

Basically misattribution of responsibility either way IMO, and in such a way that true self-esteem is never fostered not just because of this lack of responsibility, but also because of the supposedly inherent sinful nature.

I really don't know about that, any run of the mill religious person knows how to say thank you to someone who helped. It may upset some people that they don't get enough credit for what they do, but this can be seen in a negative way : why do they even need credit ? They should do good unconditionally, whether they get credit or not.

But sure, in real life we really do need approval, it just seems that religious people are capable of providing that, too.

I'm talking about this mainly from the theist's perspective. Ie the theist attributing responsibility for all good that happens to their god's intervention in one way or another, whether in their own mind, in the sense of inspiration etc, or in the behaviour of others again through god's inspiration eg the notion of god working through others. And at the same time attributing all bad to either their weakness or the influence of yet another external force, the devil. How can this sort of attitude ever foster any true responsibility or sense of self-esteem?

Indeed thanking a god for good things seems pointless.

So if we encourage atheists to breed more we could get rid of this nonsense of gods and hells and all that other stuff?

Maybe we should start a movement.

You'll have to convince my wife that it's OK for me to join a "movement" where we all engage in trying to procreate.

I think I'll pray on it... Hilarious
Disappointing theists since 1968!
