RE: Politically Progressive Section
Are we really allowed to make budgets when we have "no money"? It's like me budgeting out time to play video games when I don't have any time to play video games... only i can't have negative amounts of time to play video games >_> (Or can I? Is it any wonder I'm not a math major?).

Yes. What you make is a "repairing" budget. One where you make cuts and find out where you are screwing up. The progressives made a budget where the cuts are across the border, where every citizen rich or poor shares a burden. The conservatives dont like that, and prefer the middle class to share ALL of the burden, while the rich get rewarded with more tax breaks.

Tax the rich more.

It is the only real answer.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Its not that, and I am not personally wanting the "tax the rich" across like a sweeping generalization. I am for taxing income at a higher level with a higher percentage. Sort of like your first 10 million is good for 33%, and 33% being close to the middle class tax bracket for between 35K and up. So there is a fair tax in the sense that such a wide amount of people will share the same percentage, even if you are rich, you will share a percentage with the rest of the majority..but everything after such huge amounts pay just a tad extra. Lets say in this situation an extra 10% (which isnt much). So your first amount up to 10 mil will be taxed at 33%. Anything more you make past that is taxed at 43%.

Of course, I just made these numbers up on the spot for a quick example. I do believe Cenk posts the real percentages in the video the Progressive Caucus submitted..the only problem being they never listen to the PC.

I will slowly be working through world wide Progressive thinkers on this thread. I will start with my favorite Progressive leader in America: Theodore Roosevelt. I will then be randomly posting bits and pieces of him, and other world wide Progressive thinkers as the time goes by.

Feel free to chime in with your favorite Progressive thinkers and leaders as well.

Theodore Roosevelt 1912 - Why the Trusts and Bosses Oppose the Progressive Party

I also very much like what Caroline Lucas ( Green Party of England and Wales) says as well. Progressivism is not just a political thought. It is a world wide activism, which seperates us from traditional socialism and "establishment" liberals. Progressivism must be anti-authoritarian and taken willingly as a way of life. Something which the Progressive must embrace as a "life view" that reflects upon all the Progressive does, not only publicly, but privately. I think her speech on the "challenge of modern Progressive politics" points out, in my opinion, the need to remember that we should avoid extremism, and rather to spread Progressive thought through our everyday actions and decisions. We should lead by example, not force.
