Quote:"How are Christians persecuted in North Korea?
North Korea is once more the hardest place in the world to follow Jesus, and a brutally hostile place for Christians to live. If discovered by the authorities, believers are either sent to labour camps as political prisoners where the conditions are atrocious, or killed on the spot – and their families will share their fate as well. Christians have absolutely no freedom. It is almost impossible for believers to gather or meet to worship. Those who dare to meet must do so in utmost secrecy – and at enormous risk. Even owning a Bible is a serious crime and will be severely punished.
A report issued in 2022 by The International Bar Association and The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea said that Christians are particularly targeted and exposed to torture in North Korean prisons. "Detention periods have been documented as being longer for Christians than other groups, and witnesses have reported that ‘identified Christians are interrogated for longer periods, usually under torture’, and subjected to some of the worst forms of torture to force them to incriminate others during interrogation,” it said.
The patriarchal society of North Korea means that control over the population is especially focused on men. All men must attend workplaces allocated by the government. They must confirm their attendance and cannot stop working for any private reason, making it harder for them to flee the country than women. Those exposed as Christians will likely be publicly shamed, or much worse.
The mandatory ten-year military conscription (starting at 17 for young men) can expose any familial connection to Christianity. If a connection is found, men are denied party membership and given the lowest positions in universities and workplaces. Christian men held in labour camps suffer maltreatment and physical abuse.
Most North Korean refugees are women and are greatly at risk of forced repatriation, severe interrogation (including torture) and trafficking. The sexual abuse of women at one of the country’s notorious labour camps is believed to be endemic. The authorities even target Christian women and girls for sexual abuse in a deliberate attempt to undermine the biblical approach to sexual purity. Repatriated Christian women made pregnant by a Chinese father (often by being a victim of human trafficking) can also face forced abortions by the authorities who want to prevent the North Korean bloodline from being ‘defiled’."
... In one horrifying incident that Open Doors heard about from reliable sources, several dozen North Korean believers from different underground churches were discovered and executed. More than 100 members of their families were said to have been rounded up and sent to labour camps.
Another contributory factor is the recently introduced ‘anti-reactionary thought law’, which makes it clear that being a Christian and/or possessing a Bible is a serious crime and will be severely punished.
How can I help Christians in North Korea?
...Open Doors secret workers are keeping 80,000 North Korean believers alive with vital food and aid through secret networks in China, as well as providing shelter and discipleship training for North Korean refugees at safe houses in China."

Do you know how to use the hide feature so you don't have to copy/paste what you have put in a link to? We really don't need both other than if you have a paragraph or line or two you want to emphasize.

And yet in another post, you said that number of Christians in China is growing "The number of Christians in Communist China is growing so steadily that it by 2030 it could have more churchgoers than America." That's incredible!
They obviously don't need help and are not persecuted and you are just a pedophile enabler who is full of shit.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

This is true for everyone in North Korea, not just Christians.
Why do you point out this harsh treatment for Christians while ignoring it for everyone else?
And the same is happening to Muslims across the border in China. Why ignore that?

Arewethereyet, ok. Will copy a paragraph or two outside the quote box, and put the quote box itself in hide.
Fake Messiah, Total Non Sequitur and Christophobic bigotry from you. You obviously don't care about Persecuted Christians and are happy to let them die. God will see and judge. That was an estimate from the Telegraph about what they think will happen by 2030. Now, on Christians being persecuted in China, see this: "Due to increasing surveillance and restrictions, many house churches ceased meeting in larger groups and have split into smaller groups. Others used to meet online, but this has become more difficult as Chinese authorities pay closer attention to online activities. Several Christians have been arrested and sentenced, often charged with illegal business operations, fraud, acting against the state's security, or the vaguely worded 'stirring up trouble'." Link below.
Valkyrie, first of all Christians are singled out for extreme persecution in North Korea, in labor camps, by sexual abuse of Christian women, Bibles are banned etc. Second of all, as for China, you saw I mentioned both Christians and Muslims are persecuted, and yes, we stand with Muslims, including e.g. Uyghur Muslims though we are not Muslim. The question is whether Atheists can say the same, yes we are not Christians, but we stand with Persecuted Christians, as we would with fellow human beings, like Jews, Muslims etc.
The total dishonesty of the left is that they will not erect Holocaust Memorials to those 60 MN Russians and 65 MN Chinese killed under Atheistic Communist Dictatorial Tyrants like Stalin, Mao and others, many of whose victims were Christians. They don't want the Real History to get out. We stand with all persecuted people of everywhere, of whatever race, religion or ethnicity, and want it all to end. At least now some of the events of the Holodomor where some 10 MN Ukrainians - Ukraine is a roughly 90% Christian Country - died under Commie Thug Jo Stalin are getting out.
What’s life like for Christians in China?
Xiao Ai (name changed) was doing what she often faithfully did, hosting a church gathering at her home, when government officials barged in and arrested her. During her two-week detention, she was asked to watch other detainees – which she worked for a greater purpose.
“We were asked to take turns to monitor other offenders for three hours every night,” she recalls. “I was extremely exhausted that my eyelids got so heavy. But this was an excellent opportunity to practise praying. When everyone else was sleeping, I prayed hard! Then I started getting my energy back. I should insist on doing the same thing after being released.”
It wasn’t the only way God used the imprisonment for good. “During the detention, I experienced love from my church family,” Xiao Ai continues. “They sent me daily necessities such as fruit and blankets. There was so much love! To a certain extent, persecution points us to Christ and His love. We are more united than ever!”
Xiao Ai’s story reinforces the risk Christians take to even gather for fellowship, worship and discipleship. The dangers are especially acute for leaders. But the faith shown by our sister is reflected in believers across China, who are helped to stand strong by your prayers and support.
Is it getting harder to be a Christian in China?
Yes. Due to increasing surveillance and restrictions, many house churches ceased meeting in larger groups and have split into smaller groups. Others used to meet online, but this has become more difficult as Chinese authorities pay closer attention to online activities. Several Christians have been arrested and sentenced, often charged with illegal business operations, fraud, acting against the state's security, or the vaguely worded 'stirring up trouble'.
How can I help Christians in China?
Please keep praying for your brothers and sisters in China. Your gifts and prayers make an enormous difference to those following Jesus no matter the cost.
Open Doors supports believers in China with discipleship and persecution survival training, and by providing contextualised Christian literature to believers who have converted from Islam or Buddhism.
PLEASE PRAY
Heavenly Father, we are amazed at how the church in China has continued to see incredible growth, despite decades of opposition. As this new wave of persecution brings fresh challenges, strengthen Your people and continue to do amazing things in and through them. Give Your children strength, wisdom and encouragement as they navigate different challenges, and provide for every physical, emotional and spiritual need. We pray that You will anoint the conversations that Christians have with the local authorities, and that these will involve moments of divine encounter for those who seek to oppose Your work. Amen.

It's very simple. Christians should have the same freedom in an Atheist-Majority Country as Atheists do in a Christian-Majority Country. That's a basic tenet of the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Holodomor details: "The term Holodomor (death by hunger, in Ukrainian) refers to the starvation of millions of Ukrainians in 1932–33 as a result of Soviet policies. The Holodomor can be seen as the culmination of an assault by the Communist Party and Soviet state on the Ukrainian peasantry, who resisted Soviet policies. This assault occurred in the context of a campaign of intimidation and arrests of Ukrainian intellectuals, writers, artists, religious leaders, and political cadres, who were seen as a threat to Soviet ideological and state-building aspirations."
"A joint statement to the United Nations signed by 25 countries in 2003 declared that 7–10 million died.[d][23] ... Since 2006, the Holodomor has been recognized by the European Parliament,[4][26] Ukraine,[27] and 25 other countries, as a genocide against the Ukrainian people carried out by the Soviet government." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor
Good. Will give credit where credit is due. They researched this and condemned it and are educating people about it. Now, let them do the same about what Solzhenitsyn mentioned in Russia, and the 60 MN who died under Atheistic Bolshevik Communism.
