DHS is super geeked about an order they want to place for "ags". Automated ground surveillance vehicles. Mechanical quadripeds, better suited to the "non-environmental threats" that present themselves on borders.
Let's demystify this. They want to buy robot dogs who bite people. I've worked with them, I love them, and I know from personal experience that they're a uniquely bad idea.

Done with work for the day and perhaps the week.
Was 55 degrees when I woke up at 7 am. It's 1:30 now and the temp is 39 with a wind chill of 31...and it's starting to rain.
We are forecasted to get up to a couple inches of ice/snow between now and late Thursday night. Doesn't seem like much but when you are in an area that isn't flush with snow removal equipment, it gets messy really fast. Ice is a total shutdown situation.
It's way to late to get milk, bread, and eggs anywhere...luckily we don't need those things right now. I didn't wait till today to get prepared, other than picking up a prescription.

Wee got 31f rain for the next 48. The stores closed yesterday. We wont get any snow, no accumulation - but our powerlines might come down on the weight - like last time.

It's a balmy 8 F out currently, but by the time I get home it would have been 0 F. So I skipped donating today in favor of Friday. Which is not looking a whole lot better.

It's 80f at night where I'm from. Left because it was too hot....didn't realize that it would be uninhabitable elsewhere.
