I can't speak for Gwaithmir, but some actual, testable, verifiable evidence would be a good start.

By the way, you're making a grave error assuming atheism is equivalent to believing no gawds exist (gnostic atheism). While a minority of atheists do believe this, most simply remain entirely unconvinced, but do not claim there are none (agnostic atheism). So, before you ask someone to back up their claim, perhaps you should get an understanding of what they're claiming.

Of course, that probably sounds like too much work for someone who gets all his answers to everything spoon fed to him from a priest and an iron age book of myths and fairy tales.

Hi, Barry. I have never considered myself one of "God's people," because I have never seen your god as something real. My evidentiary standard is simple but non-negotiable: In order for me to see a god-like being as real, I would have to encounter it in the physical world. Personal testimonies, scriptures and apologetics don't come anywhere near that requirement.

As for meaning, I see it as totally subjective and personal, and in my case religious belief would not be particularly useful.

It doesn’t answer the question of “does God exist?”. It answers the question “Do you know if God exists?”
And if you don’t know, that’s fine. It means you don’t know the answer.

A god who created birds and whales a whole day before he created man (Genesis 1), then created man before he created any animal (Genesis 2) does not exist.  That is the biggest no-brainer in the history of Earth.

Hi, wow that’s a lot to unload on me. 2+2 =4 or not. How can the existence of God not be binary? Saying you don’t know the answer is not an answer. That doesn’t make sense. I say the answer is yes, God exists. It doesn’t make me right. If you say “no”. One of us is right, the other wrong. The people who don’t know don’t have an answer. They are not right or wrong. I respect all 3 positions, buy it is binary.

No one needs to prove god doesn't exist until he has demonstrated by people who claim he exists it totally reasonable to not accept its existence and yes the burden solely rests with you.
