I'm 4 1/2 years older than my wife, when we first met and started dating, she was only 16 1/2, and I had just turned 21. It raised some eyebrows at first, but my future mother-in-law trusted me enough to let us become a couple.
We've been together for over 43 years now.

What we should do vs what we do, lol. I'll probably feel some kind of way about it if my kids bring home someone half or twice their age.

Have you heard the "Half-your-age-plus-seven" rule?

By this rule I guess you'd have to go with a 30-year-old. Not that I'm calling the cops on you.

I broke it consistently when I was dating around. Then I got serious with my wife, who is almost exactly my own age.
