Inquiry regarding creationists
I don't know if there are any active members on this forum who identify as creationists, but if you are one, this question is specially for you!  Cool

Does anyone happen to know whether creationists would turn down medicine or treatments (such as for cancer) based on knowledge derived from evolutionary theory?

It would be interesting to find out what they have to say about that. I think they'd be hypocrites if they did accept such medication or treatments, and I think it would be interesting to find out of they'd change their position upon learning that evolutionary theory actually has practical applications - particularly life-saving ones.

Mmmm.. good question!
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

That would require both intellectual curiosity and abiding intellectual honesty, the possession of which would have stopped most of them from becoming or remaining creationists in the first place

They would take advantage of the therapies and simply deny they had anything to do with evolutionary theory. Dodgy

Not all creationists deny evolution, so I think it would depend on which particular franchise of creationism is being considered.

I'll get Santa to give me what I need, no evolution necessary, just magic. The only problem, will I live till next December?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Very few creationists, at least in well connnected, generally literate communities exposed to modern science, totally deny evolution.    Otherwise the effects of the fact that children tend to look like parents or grand parents but not identical would prove an awkward thing to account for.    when challenged they might call these micro-evolution.   What many deny are speciation through evolution,   Because if speciation had indeed occurred on large scale, then the silence of religious tradition on the issue tend to imply religion mostly didn’t know jack shit.

(Bold mine)

Thank you for telling me what I just said. Very helpful.

RE: Inquiry regarding creationists
creationism
noun

the belief that the universe and living originate from specific acts of divine creation, as in the biblical account, rather than by natural processes such as evolution.
