It's not mexican unless their illegals, I am fully hispanic my entire family and most hispanics have always lived in California, Arizona and other various places along with the Native Americans for generations. When both states were taken the people were allowed to stay, so were as much American as you. Mexican's on the other hand are literally citizens of Mexico. Hence the name Mexicans, citizens of america are Americans? When somebody jump's the the border then you can call them a Mexican, but you should not call every hispanic Mexican. Thats cool man. Im not one of those peeople who scream "anchor baby". I really didnt want to get that indepth with race on the post, focusing on illegals hopping the border, which is why I said Mexican, but then I said Mexicans live around me as well. Im sure most of them are citizens, nor am I going to question it, nor was that a big part of the discussion. I was merely pointing out a problem that very well may "pop" in our lifetime, and no matter what I say nice about people on both sides, it will do nothing for the violence that is sure to come if it does pop.
Quite frankly, even though I have used "white" before, I really dont care much for using it. When ever I fill out paperwork and they ask me "race?" I put down "human"..LOL.

Have you been paying attention to the drug/civil war in Mexico? Do you even REALIZE the casual brutality, murder and death over there?

There's a damn good reason why them Mexicans are trying more than ever to get over here - their state is a fucking hell hole, where you might end up headless in some ditch somewhere to "send a message." To whom or what is always arbitrary, but who gets used as the message? The common man.

Oh yes, I have been paying attention to the war over there. I realize the casual brutality. I am worried that civil/drug war is going to spill over into our borders, and I DONT want that crap over here. Also, if this does happen, that "pop" that I was talking about before, will happen much sooner and with more reasons behind it, meaning it will gain more popularity as well. I feel bad for those living in Mexico right now, and I understand they want to get away from it. They too should understand that we have problems of our own, and each illegal who crosses the border brings a chance of one of those murderous types along with them as well (and please dont tell me it will not happen). If mexico is having a civil war, then that is MORE reason to secure our borders and NOT get involved. It isnt good to get involved in another countries civil war, and it DEFINITELY isnt good for said war to spill into our borders.
What do you think we should do? Swing open the gates and hold our arms open to them? I think they should flat out legalise drugs over there. that would be a good step in the right direction. Normally I am all for imigrants coming here, but not in this situation. They need to clean their own house before they come into mine.

I see this trope repeated so often, it saddens me to see it parroted here in this dome of rationalism. Once again, have you considered there is a deeper context than a simple emotional/respect problem? Have you considered that your national pride means squat to them when they've survival at stake?

Really? So it isnt rational to acknowledge a political border? I have told you I live around hispanics. I have heard them talking about crossing the border is nothing, and they plan family coming across the border illegally on holidays and even help them cross it. If this is NOT them brushing it off as if it where nothing, then I dont know what is. And since when is national pride something to frown upon? Im very proud of my nation and what it has accomplished in the last 100 years especially. Then again, of course there is a deeper context to it. That doesnt mean I want to swing the gates wide and say "okay, all of you..come on in! Sure, bring that drug civil war with you as well..we will take care of it like we take care of everything else on the planet".

Anyone with any weapon should aim to maintain an even keel at all times - anything less than that should be considered offensive, perhaps even criminal. You cannot give back life once you take it. Fact that you had to state #3 shows that the majority of people encompassed by that statement should never be allowed to even own a weapon, much less a gun. Fucking children.

Of course, like the rest of the original post, I was just being generalizing. I get mixed feelings when I see them minute men out there. Of course, I am nowhere near those states. Im happy that citizens want to take an active roll, and for the most part have restrained themselves from violence. On the other hand, I sometimes wonder if they are doing it more for racism than anything else. Needless to say, if they havent broken any laws, and they have actually helped to enforce certain laws, then I cannot come down hard on them for it.

Seems rather unjust, as chances are, if the above was implemented, the business owners would no doubt receive lesser punishments due to their privileged position in society (as well as access to a much larger social support network) while their Mexican toady "foremen" would get the crap end of the stick, despite both colluding with full knowledge of their actions.

Not if the business owner got a minimum 4 years for the crime, then it would be just. I remind you that not all illegals are just "moms and pops looking for work", there are illegal and legal hispanics alike who take an active part in human traficking and helping to enforce a type of slave labor by being the middle man between the greedy boss and the needy workers. I dont mean just a typical "foreman" in this sense. I mean the one who is the rich peoples "hook up" for illegal work. The ones who make money from the illegals wanting to get in, and then turn around and refer them to bosses who treat them like slaves. In this case, the word "foreman" is more than just someone on the jobsite telling the guys what to do. And I agree, the bosses will have access to better judicial services, but these same bosses may very well protect the foremen as well, to protect their profits.

I agreed with much of what you said. However, our proximity to the failed state of Mexico fuels their war. Things might be different if the cross border drug and weapons trade was halted immediately.

Securing our border is a rather difficult and expensive thing to do. Even the cheap-ass "virtual fence" consisting of cameras and volunteers was canceled for being too costly. So while the statement "we need to secure our borders" is a valid one, and quite a good solution, the implementation of such leaves much to be desired.

I've yet to see a border securement plan that is not cut due to cost or jurisdiction issues.

It doesn't help that numerous interests collude to promote casual illegal and legal immigration into the USA.

I think that we have to be more understanding, as our actions, in past and present, and proximity contribute significantly to their internal strife and chaos - not "pop" or something. But then again, I am literally advising people to keep their emotions in check and try to understand more about the situation than simply reacting to a perceived threat.

And asking for sanity is like asking for honest politicians. Seems a simple enough request, yet it never seems to appear...
