Hello Fellow Thinkers!

I started reading the posts as a guest and found the discussions interesting, so here I am officially.
A short introduction about me...
I rejected religion at age 8 when I quit Sunday school at the largest Baptist church in our area. Started reading Kafka, Sartre & Camus in junior high and went on to a degree in Philosophy at university with a focus on Existentialism.
Then had a breakdown and had to learn how to read & write all over again...
I'm old now and a shell of my previous self, but I still enjoy discussions and like reading what others have to say, as long as it involves an actual thought process. I get easily frustrated at the sheer stupidity of most people these days and how utterly vacuous we've become as a society of blind believers. Ugh *looking for smiley bashing head against a wall*
So, ummm....hi?

greetings, you did not post from which country are you from but talking about baptist church I would assume the US, am I right?

Canada, but as a telling sign of the times, that same church that loomed over the town i grew up in has now been turned into condominiums.
A small victory for our side? Although the "evil" of real estate developers can perhaps be food for another thread
