Yeah, you can insert the phrase "officially-sanctioned" and get my gist nicely. I had thought that'd be obvious considering the context was familial appointments into government, so omitted it.

These ads are all over American TV, there's a "Trump gold dollar" coin -- which is again not legal tender, like this sheet of asswipe -- selling for $40.
