So Trump now plans to take over the Post Office.
I assume the next thing is going to renaming the United States to something like the Kingdom of Trumpty Dumpty.

Trump is still so pissed about losing to Biden that he must have spent the last four years figuring out just how fast he could fuck up everything.

I'm good with that. Does he think he can compete with FedEx, UPS, or Amazon?
USPS was great for letters, back in the day. I had penpals all over, first-class letters across the country in two days tops. But nowadays, when shipping packages, it's inefficiency as usual, considering that consumers want it NextDay at no additional cost. I sent a guitar to a needy picker in Seattle back in 2015. It took six days and about $80.
Post is not about 1-oz first-class letters any more, it's about ordering and delivering within 48 hrs based from local warehouses and USPS just can't do that.

I still send birthday cards and Christmas cards and don't want to have to go through a carrier like UPS. Most of our mail is filed directly in the trash but if we get a new debit/card I would imagine the price would be sky high if the issuing bank had to use UPS or Fedex.
My main concern is that he is trying to take over everything...absolutely everything and he isn't, nor are his cronies, skilled in many of the areas he is barging in on.

Not to mention the Constitution specifically directs Congress to create a postal service.
It isn't his to do with as he pleases, it's Congress'. It's a usurpation of power and a violation of his oath IMO.
How we do things matters.

We have reached the point where Congress and SCOTUS are absolutely useless. They can't or won't stop this travesty.

I'm painfully aware of that but I refuse to capitulate.

Right, and if that were the main use, I'm good. However, the whole junk mail being cheaper than real mail started the undermining of the USPS.
My bank does private mail for card-replacement (when I ask it, I normally drive and do it in person) with no charge.
I agree that his taking over everything is shitty. He could probably order mail opened. One more reason to avoid USPS.

HHS cancels ad campaign for flu vaccination. And we're having one of the worst flu seasons in recent years. Thanks, Bobby!

It only hit me with a high fever, but it still got me.
