Christianity; The World's most vile religion
December 13, 2024 at 12:39 pm
It's a well known fact that, throughout its blood-soaked history, Christianity has been responsible for some of the worst acts in human history.
Genocides.
Persecutions.
Wars.
Crusades.
Massacres.
Slavery.
Pogroms.
Destruction of cultural treasures.
Perhaps the "good book" should be banned.

Perhaps the "good book" should be banned. Perhaps instead of banning the bible, we ought to simply be appalled at the idea of such a deity, and that if a deity existed that acted as cruelly and barbarically as the one in the bible, far from worshipping it, we ought really to tell it to fuck right off. If we had anything worthy of the description of a moral compass that is. Sadly, when we defer our moral decisions to doctrine and dogma, the worst kind of atrocities are all too easy. Even "good" Nazis managed to blindly follow orders, morality requires that we weigh the consequences of our actions.
“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities”
That is often attributed to Voltaire, but there is some debate, either way I think it has a point.

I’d always hope Quentin Tarantino would adapt the Bible into a film script (and direct, of course).

It should be required reading throughout high school. I can think of no faster way to kill a religion

Except, reading alone isn't a direct line to comprehension. Not all readers possess critical thinking skills.

But someone in a classroom will probably notice and start asking questions. It only takes one skeptic to start other people questioning.

I was part of a few comparative religions classes throughout school, but the faithful ones never deviated from their beliefs.

Why ban it? Better to let it fall into irrelevance. It's catholic church that should be targeted first- nationalizing it's stolen wealth and delegalizing this international, pedophile ring would be a good moves in a fight with mankind most pernicious enemy - religion.
Other branches of christian mafia (and other cults) could be dealt with later.

I didn't waver in my beliefs until I read the Bible.
