Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

As in a social context. Do the views of religious people put you off them personally?

No, not at all. They can believe in whatever they wish. Just as long as I don't catch their illness. Tongue
Seriously though, I haven't a problem with what they believe in. Just as long as they keep it to themselves.

So you have a problem with them mentioning their beliefs to you at all?

Mentioning it is fine, but when I'm out glancing at girls passing by, the last thing I'd want to hear about is some god belief.
They can start a convo about it, but not too often. Not everyone wants to hear about god this and god that.

If they start a conversation about god too often, how do you react? And how often is too often for you?

I'd probably just say, 'yeah ok.'. Just try and move on to something else. Too often is like once a day or even twice a week. I really do have better things to do. Only online will I be happy to argue about it. Offline, I don't want to hear about it.

Do you equate conversing about it with having an argument?

Not really no. There's talking about each others beliefs or lack therof or full out debate with bringing in points to try and support one side or the other. When discussing religion offline, it doesn't last long. Because I just don't want to know.
My mother believes in a god, but never speaks of it. She herself doesn't want to talk about it, because she doesn't really give a damn about religion. I don't really speak of it offline because I never see it, hear of it and I'm not affected by it. Plus I have better things to do.

Were you ever a theist?
