I served as a volunteer leader for the BSA for 15 years. The first thing I was exposed to at leader training was a video about the problem of pedo abuse. I was kind of pissed, watching the video, because that wasn't why I was there. But the BSA policy was what was called "two deep leadership", where NO boy is left alone with only one adult. The cases one reads about, 100% involve some leader as the only leader on some activity when the molestation happens. The BSA HAS addressed the problem, and has training in place to combat it. It generally arises when the event has only one leader. I personally have called off events if it looked like I was going to be the only leader present. That said, I don't like their stance on homosexuality or religion. I also say homosexuality .NE. pedophilia.

Hospital employee accused of manipulating Lori Vallow case
