Banning Social Media for Everyone Under 16

I was watching a documentary on AI a few hours ago. Schools in India and several European countries are already taking steps on how and with which restrictions they are going to incorporate this technology into the education system.
 
You cannot ban it (I’m thinking of college education) because if one student is using it, than all the others will say “Why not me?”
 
So yes, I am not talking about “banning” things. There were very sophisticated calculators in my high school years. The school had some policies on how to use them (because they were already strong enough to type in all the dates during the History exam). But there was no complete restriction of ban on these tools (in fact they made us buy these calculators).
 
But as I said: I don’t like social media at all. I see it as a capitalist trick that is designed to take away my time so that people like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg can make money. I also stoped consuming junk food completely.

So I am sort of advocating some changes that should give younger generations to make conscious choices for themselves and by themselves on these issues. Because that’s what I did. No one forced me to hate facebook. I simply decided I didn’t want it
