Public sympathy turned against it (at least from what I read) but in current era it does not mean that much - bots and propaganda can possibly revert the trend.

I hope I will see the day when this rogue state will be held responsible for all it crimes since Nakba but I doubt it will come in my lifetime.

Israel will no doubt continue its atrocities as long as the US encourages them.

It's often disappointing to see people condemning Israel's actions while denying that the US makes these actions possible through military, financial, and logistical support. And of course the US vetoes any UN declarations which oppose Israel's actions.

The State Department has just approved an emergency sale of weapons worth over $151 million.

israel does not need US encouragement to commit atrocities. Also at least when it comes to Iran it seems that it is israel that dragged US to war (not that far right administration there was against it): https://jacobin.com/2026/03/us-israel-iran-war-trump

And yes US continued support of genocidal regime is beyond the pale but the same can be said about numerous other countries like (not so) Great Britain labelling Palestine Action as terrorist organization (which was found to be unlawful by Britain court)*. It's fucking depressing that tragedy of Shoah can be used as a shield to commit genocide and world just fucking watch. Well, mostly watch as there is some condemnation, far from universal though and certainly not in proportion to abhorrence to the crime.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Contrary to what Trump seems to think, the future of Iran is not up to the Iranian people.

Well, ok, it kind of is, but absent a protracted and bloody civil war, I don’t expect any great shift toward anything resembling a democracy in Iran.

The not-really Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is claiming that he has a mandate to serve as some sort of interim leader if the war ever winds down

It is to laugh. Haha.

He is indeed the Crown Prince. For what it's worth, that and $3 will get him a throne ... at our local Strabucks.

Fun fact: At the 1976 Asian Football Cup, I sat about 75' from him and his father.

While Persian expatriates in America may hold him high, I'm very skeptical of his ability to gather support inside Iran, given not only his own lengthy absence but his father's well-earnt reputation as an Anglo-American stooge.

On the other hand, he has a nice mansion in Beverly Hills, where it might be wise for him to stay while he runs his mouth.

Asked if he bombed a desalination plant in Iran, Trump said Iranians are "among the most evil people ever on earth."

"They cut babies' heads off—they chop women in half..."

"I know nothing about a desalinization plant, other than to say, if they're complaining about a desalinization plant, we complain about the fact they shouldn't be chopping babies' heads off."

Steve Witkoff and Pete Hegseth are nodding in agreement.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Dehumanization, always high in justification. Not that the Iranian government isn't high on being pricks, but does anyone think Trump cares about Iranian women and babies? Bueller? Bueller?

Trump is frustrated that Iran did not surrender. His response is to massacre as many Iranians as possible. He is criminally insane.

Given the way the IRGC feels about him, he probably shouldn't visit Iran even on holiday, let alone try to run the place. In fact, the Guard are going to be a huge factor in whoever heads up the next Iranian government.
