This Is Interesting

A recent poll found that 68% of people in Northern Ireland and 73% in the Republic would support a unified Ireland, but only if remaining in the European Union was part of the package (NI left the EU during the Brexit fiasco).
While the poll may very well be an outlier given past results, it’s intriguing on the face of it particularly the results from the north.

Brexit was a stupid idea badly implemented. (nice to see how well the NHS is doing with the extra £350 million a week promised by brexit!)

You are probably correct, maybe I was being too generous!

Could Brexit have even been well-implemented? Such a phrasing implies it could have been and I cannot, for the life of me, see how. Except maybe if they had managed to pre-negotiate all the many economic agreements that breaking from the EU would have broken in such a way that the other nations would have no choice but to rubber-stamp them.Bold mine

Nope. When your plan from the beginning is to create a clusterfuck, it's definitionally impossible to de-clusterfuck it.

I recall thinking that Brexit was such an obvious bad idea being pushed by bad actors that I was gobsmacked when it didn't fail, though in retrospect I shouldn't have been.

The British government at that time couldn’t have organized a piss-up in a brewery.

I used to be rather passionate about re-unification, to the point of taking to the streets and throwing stones at the peelers. My interest in the matter is now purely academic.
