It seems that most of you here must be doing a lot of belief in the bible. You seem to be upset, or joking at least about something that you don't even accept as true. Can you actually comment about God destroying things if you don't even accept any possibility that any of it could be true? Some facts about God are conceptual(spiritual). Everyone accepts concepts about something, yet you can't prove what is in your head unless it can get out. Making an art of reason involves visualizing a concept in your mind, and then searching for some kind of physical way to manifest it.

How Many Has God Killed?

There's an entire form of humor involving things which aren't true, which makes the Bible that people hold so sacrosanct ripe for satire. I can comment about Darth Vader destroying things and I don't have to accept that he's real.
And all you're doing is spouting empty rhetoric. (April 25, 2011 at 4:53 pm)thesummerqueen Wrote: My buddy Eric has been having fun flipping through this site. Here's another he enjoyed."See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand." Deuteronomy 32:39 (NASB) According to this verse (quoted in the article, for some reason choosing the KJV), God has put to death (and given life to) every single person who ever lived. So 25 million people looks like a rather low estimate...
I really can't help it....
I am SHE I was BEFORE He came.... ignore me at your peril. The babble is just machismo...nothing more... an attempt to put down and demonise the matriarchal goddess worship that had preceded it....meh "The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest." Sure - but answer me first... Do YOU think God kills everyone and brings them to life?

Do YOU think God kills everyone and brings them to life?In the sense that God is the sustainer of all that exists, yes. I pictured a bearded man with a look of concentration on his face as he 'sustained all that exists'. What form does this 'sustaining' take and can you prove it? You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
If a book could contain some useful truth in it, why would you want to throw it away? We should consider the positive things that it has to offer. One of those things is a value that each of you already uses to determine what is right or wrong about what you read. This divider of truth should be love. This should be the way that anything in your life can be decided. What is the greatest attribute of humanity but the sharing of this single most important attribute. Isn't this how you make a decision to reject something that you read, because you know that there is NO love in some parts of it? I could not find any Christians to answer my questions about this. All they did was judge my questions with disdain. Aren't we all just searching to be understood and accepted. Isn't that why you join a forum in the first place? Isn't it to find support and acceptance by others who are questioning the same way that you are? Do you throw away the chance to understand anything if you find a flaw. If you throw all of the dirt away, you will also toss out the gold that is there. Maybe this love concept will reveal itself to be the most logical thing that you could ever understand.
