My change to Atheism from Christianity (I'm 14)

RE: My change to Atheism from Christianity (I'm 14)
Of course there's a way to prove gods existence. He/She/It could make itself irrefutably known. You know not every religion has this idea that god desires to be a "back of the house" kind of guy, only the ones who saw the problem with the alternative.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

One cannot have any religious faith -since birth-, since at birth you have no knowledge of religion. Unless you adopt it after you are old enough to think clearly about such things, it is -inculcated- (that is, taught by rote learning).

If you think people get uppity at your telling them you're an atheist, try telling them your a Wiccan. Or a Muslim.

Lol the first time you told your neighbor you were a wiccan he turned to you and tried to choke you, then they picketed your house. That's how you strip them of their individuality, make them know you're not wanted here.

Actually the house-picketing occurred in Virginia Beach in 1984, and the choking in Nebraska a few months ago.

Ran into that fellow today in the General Store here. I have been actively avoiding him, but that is hard to do in a town of 142. He told the owner as I entered "they shouldn't serve my kind here." The owner told him I pay my bills, unlike some around here, and my money is good. Fellow glared at me as he stalked out of the store, but didn't say anything to me.

[joke] You should put a hex on him. [/joke]

Perhaps 'god' is shy?

That assumes two things though, first that God desperately wishes that everyone believes He exists (I do not believe this is supported by scripture at all), and secondly that everyone would worship and follow God once they believed He existed which again is not supported by scripture. Scripture tells us that creation alone is more than enough evidence for man to believe God exists, so it is man's fault if he still does not believe (Romans 1).

Scripture is true because Scripture tells us that Scripture is true because Scripture tells us that.....ad infinitum.

YOUR scripture talks about a shy god. Many other gods apparently came down and threw parties on a near constant basis.

You know what else isn't supported by the scripture? The Germ Theory of Disease. Should we expect a breakthrough in creation science today?

God created you Rhythm. What more proof do you want?

Gods revelation to mankind is that mankind must understand him intellectually. If you wish to re-write your own religion, be our guest. If you want to address our religion we'll be waiting here for when you get back Wink

I was under the impression that my mother and father were responsible for that. Glad that little mystery? was finally cleared up?

And by the way was god attempting the whole intellectual thing when he caused the heavens to stand still, or when he set that bush on fire, or destroyed the walls of Jericho, or oh, I don't know, rose from the dead in front of witnesses? I'm only commenting that god was apparently once in the business of physical proof, but has since decided to take a new direction with his ministry.

God didn't change Rhythm. Our way of looking at it did.

Assuming God, God created the cosmos. Assuming not God, not God created the cosmos. If you're asking for proof of 'God', then you're assuming God in the question, so the answer has to be in context of the question: God made the cosmos, and it's proof of him.
