Your sig is a strawman by the way, I bet you know that.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yer killin' me, Statler. They are directly analogous, each as ridiculous as the other. In fact, I would say that the notion of some all-powerful, tripartite yet integral father of a son who is the father himself born of a virgin who had to become flesh to die for a bunch of things which the all powerful father had let happen in the first place but which he blamed on the gullible beings who believed in him is one helluva lot more ridiculous.

should probably wait for a new thread, or a mod to split this one.

It's a funny straw man though. If you are going to be the straw man police you are going to be busy on this website my friend.

Speaking of the straw man argument. Nice timing Epim.

So you honestly believe you gave an accurate representation of the Christian worldview? If that's the case, you are right; it was not a straw man but rather just a display of ignorance. The Christian worldview is so much more than what you think it is. Anyways, I am off to do my run, I will be back on tomorrow most likely. Take care my friend.

If you honestly believe what you said here:
Denying the existence of a celestial teapot is not analogous to denying the existence of an all powerful, all knowing, all present, eternal, personal God who makes even knowledge itself possible.
I see evidence of a sort of calculated ignorance which necessitates-nay, emboldens-my rejoinder. Have a good run.

How about an all powerful, all present, eternal personal Teapot ????

RE: [split] Does God Exist? (Part 3 of whatever)

We now have our own wonderful thread. I'll keep her warm till you get back. I'd love to address a simple point before we even begin.
Atheism is not a belief system, or philosophy. It is also not "The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs."
Atheism is a lack of belief in god or gods. That's as far as it goes.
There can be no positive statement of belief in a position that is in fact defined as the absence of belief. I can debate the merits of any idea or opinion you may have regarding the likelihood of gods, or more specifically your god in an honest and open way, so long as you refrain from redefining concepts, positions, or ideas, to suit your argument. I don't want any post I'm contributing in to become word salad, losing all purpose or meaning in the process.

No...professing belief in an invisible sky-daddy who is all-powerful and all-whatever but who is still apparently a major fuck-up is absurd. My position is quite clear. There is no evidence for your (or anyone's) idea of a god. Provide some because your opinions are fucking worthless.
