Is this serious are you just shitting around?

I find it ironic that you will keep an open mind about the afterlife but are very quick to dismiss dark energy

xonage Wrote:Here is a question for you smart guys around here. If the universe is expanding, then what is contracting. When you blow up a baloon, your lungs contract. You cant have an expansion without a contraction somewhere else. Any takers.

What makes you think expansion has to come with a contraction?

I dont dismiss dark energy. I think it makes sense. But it is kinda the "soul" of the scientific world is it not. As far as expansion, it is simple physics that something else must be contracting.

Easy. The Big Crunch. Entropy does not go on for infinity. Are you finished squandering your time and ours? Either believe in some afterlife, or do not fall for the scare tactis/myths. Oh wait, silly me. Of course you would waste time debating silly shit, because a single lifetime is pretty irrelevant when you take in account the afterlife. It seems as though you have chosen.

Sorry buddy^^^^^^ i am not convinced either way. I am certainly not sold on any of the religions version of an afterlife, and so far none of the arguments here have helped.

Although evolution is easily provable and is clearly a reality, it does not answer the question of "how this all began in the first place." Science itself acknowledges cause and effect. Something in motion has to be set into motion. A car doesn't accelerate without you pushing the gas pedal. So what is pushing the gas pedal of life. I have heard the best argument for god as "the first cause" and everything we see now is the result of that initial action.

Is there any examples or pattern in life where something has come into existence from nothing. Then again this would raise a further question, "do we have the ability to see what caused this something to apparently come out of nothing. Any thoughts.
Well then you're a bumbling baboon. Evolution is Change/Time, it, by definition, CAN'T answer how this all began in the first place, nor does it claim it can. Read up on the Euri-Miller experiment (not quite sure of the spelling of Euri) and the consequential research conducted thereafter. I also greatly despise your insertion that there must have been a time or point when nothing existed. Do some research into the current theories of theoretical physics.

Xonage claimed to not be a theist, but all the arguments he was using were directly from the Christian creationist handbook:

"Evolution doesn't explain how the universe began." "Everything has to have a beginning." "The universe couldn't have just come from nothing."

Forgive me for being skeptical, but then again I am a doubting Thomas.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
