Why do you think atheists pay so much attention to religion?

Because when there's a problem with something you at least try to fix it.

And because ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away.

Not so much religion per se, but when the cretinists et al try to supplant reality with their fairytales.

Because I like to discuss it, I like to try to understand what leads a person to maintain such a delusion after growing up.
The only thing atheists have in common, due to their atheism, is their lack of belief in god. So on an atheist forum, discussing why they lack belief in god seems to be the point of the forum. We might find we have other shared interests, and will discuss them too, but that's nothing to do with being an atheist.
