I'm not eating. YAY!

RE: I'm not eating. YAY!
Rgr that, just amused that there was even a provision which could be manipulated by the less than scrupulous. I never knew it existed before this moment.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

No food nor water for about 16 hours (from 4:20 A.M to 8:15 PM).

It's kind of hard, though, especially in this hot weather in August. But I'm used to it and time seems to go really fast when I'm fasting. And we have to do this for a month.

No water for 16 hours thats just stupid!

No wonder a lot of muslims get antsy.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Well, it's not as if the custom originated in a place where dehydration would be a problem, like say, a desert country. Oh, wait.. Dodgy

The reason for this is to put fluid into the body first since that is what our bodies need the most. Then, we are supposed to eat a light meal and not something too heavy because the digestion system has been on a rest for quite a long time. It's not going to be good for our health if we eat too much food all at once (or at one sitting). So, it's important that we eat slowly and moderately upon breaking the fast and especially drink lots of water.

No, what our bodies need the most is a sane diet not dictated by imaginary friends Tongue

Or he could just get a more normal approach to life so he doesn't have to sell his house and move somewhere else because of the dictates of a big book of fairy stories.

That might be why many Muslims are okay with stoning a woman to death for getting a divorce.

Yep, Rayaan. The priests have always got their fucking palms out for a few shekels. Nothing new there.

You have to get the people delirious before they'll find the idea of a man on a winged unicorn credible.

I've never heard of teh concept of paying a Fidya, Rayaan.
I'll read about it now. But it had better be connected to one's Zakaat.

Stuffing your face at sunset? Try it, then attend Taraweh prayers of 20 Rakats. Haha. Not a very good idea.
You need something light. Something that will sit well - also not too much water so you don't have to use a bathroom until it's over. It's all a balance. Tongue

Boy, I feel dehydrated and I'm not even on this silly fast.

<--- drinks some water.

Whew... I knew this beach would get to me eventually!
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

Why would I try that when my diet, free of superstition, means I can eat whatever I feel like whenever it pleases me?

I don't see the need to subject myself to your banal fantasy, frankly Tongue
