1: Always. 2: No. And they don't need to, but I'll take a hydra buff any day.

The only zerg unit I *never* use is the Mutalisk. In ZvZ, they never see hydras coming. They go ahead and spam a million mutalisks, only to have them get fucked into oblivion by a pincer of 2 hydra groups protected from ground drama by Sling/bling/roach. I build corruptors against protoss specifically for colossus. And against terran I laugh at bio and mech both. Still don't know what to do about mass raven which Syna ruined me with recently ^_^ (I actually do know what to do: play more aggressively)
