RE: Aerzia's Film Recommendation Thread
The Man From Earth is one of the best fucking movies i've ever seen, especially considering the whole thing took place in a single cabin.

Quote:Have you ever seen the movie Ed Wood, starring Johnny Depp as the man himself? I've actually heard people getting a new "Appreciation" for his oeuvre.

Yes; Johnny Depp is in my opinion one of the smartest and best (American) actors of his generation.

I had already seen "Plan 9 From Outer Space" (the title is by far the best thing about the movie) I watched it again after seeing the terrific Depp opus. It was STILL crap. Don't care what a nice/interesting man Ed may have been;he couldn't make films for toffee..

Tangent

Recently watched "Forbidden Planet" again. Ann Francis was as pneumatic as I remember, but I hadn't realised how hard looking she is about the face. Looks like her makeup was put on with spatula.- ----I'd forgotten how much "the monster from Id" looks like Looney Tunes' "Tasmanian Devil"---the matte work is still stunning.I doubt it was surpassed before CGIs

I assume "home" for you is the 1940s?

I am sure it was a fun time... I would rather go back to the 60s though.

I've heard that claim all too often, the only time I was inclined to agree was in regards to "North by northwest", it's definitely right up there amongst my favourites.
