Aerzia's Film Recommendation Thread
The thought has just occurred that young embryonic Zia has so far missed out on some of the greatest films of our time due to her ridiculously young age.

So what I suggest is that we all put our thinking caps on and come up with a list of must see films/movies that she can't properly culturally function without.

I'll start the ball rolling..
  • V for Vendetta
  • What dreams may come.
  • Evil dead.
  • House.
  • Re-animator.
  • The man from Earth.
  • Moon.

Yeah, well, I've been a lifelong fan (and I'm not even exaggerating here) of Mystery Science Theatre 3000, so liking to laugh at incredibly bad movies does come natural for me. Have you ever seen the movie Ed Wood, starring Johnny Depp as the man himself? I've actually heard people getting a new "Appreciation" for his oevure.

I've seen that film. It's probably Tarkovsky's weakest Russian film, but that still makes it a lot better than a lot of movies.

This seems like an interesting film. I'm always on the lookout for a good Holocaust film that's genuinely disturbing (or at least disquieting) and not just some Schindler's List-wannabe melodrama that's so concerned about being heartwarming that it seems like it's trying to ignore the suffering of millions to focus on the salvation of a few thousand.

Yes, it does seem like it would be a good film. Its RT score is actually at 96%. I hope to see whether or not John Michael McDonagh is as good a writer as his brother Martin.
