It doesn't have anything to do with the discussion. They are being facetious. At any rate, preaching is basically telling people what you believe or what you think they should believe, more specifically. Here, that is borderline okay, as long as it is backed up by some sort of discussion that doesn't stem solely from faith or the bible. You'll be okay if you just keep asking questions when someone says you are toeing the line. Eventually, you'll get the idea of what is acceptable.

It has nothing to do with discussion per se, but it does show that there is a certain depth to your character and that you have, at least, a small desire to be a part of what is a vibrant community rather than this 'me against the rest of them' attitude that you seem to have.

Also, a refusal to have an avatar demonstrates a rather stuffy and arrogant attitude towards what is basically a friendly little club.

It's a bit like going to Hawaii and refusing to wear flowers around your neck when asked to by the attractive native girls. You don't have to of course but people will think you very boring and one dimensional.

Okay, I tried to install avatars but, even though they are smaller than 150X150 the computer says they are too big. I did use them on a Christian forum. Maybe the computer is atheist too?

It probably is. Technology has a well known bias towards atheism.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Does this problem per chance have anything to do with the fact that I've been having some trouble seeing other random pics around the site?

curious?

While cartoons have nothing to do with respect... faces (avatars) do.

This is an example of a face. A face can be any image used to identify oneself visually.

This too is a face.

...

What you have right now makes you as much a person as a mannequin.

So right now: you are unrespectable as a person. If you want any respect from me: you need a face. Even if your face is not a face at all, or if it is deliberately

It is an improvement over not being a person, wouldn't you say? Smile

Though always be aware that she is right, whatever it was she said to you Smile
