My opinion - origin of the universe?

RE: My opinion - origin of the universe?
Perhaps the absence of a "perfect" human specimen. Alive or in the fossil record?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I think those who presume to act out an theatrical farewell should have the decency, to say nothing of self respect and concern for one's own credibility, to stay out.

I am of the opinion that the universe was created by intelligent design. That a Supreme Being created the universe out of nothing.

I would like to hear your opinions.

You are making a claim but have not supported it. You need to support your claim before expecting others to comment on it.

But computers *gasp* weren't made by someone perfect using magic, or they wouldn't be imperfect. If you acknowledge that the human body is lacking in some aspects, then you also acknowledge that they were not created in the image of a perfect being, by a perfect being, using magic.

If we have altered the human gene sequences, then that is evolution, albeit forced evolution similar to what is seen in dog breeding, which can often have detrimental results.

Why do you assume that the universe needed to begin? It may have always existed.

You said that computers are made intelligently (by us) and still glitch... In making the comparison I see a possibility of you meaning God is not perfect...

A perfect God shouldn't even be capable of glitches.

oh, and I didn't call you stupid... I called your claim stupid. You can take from that what you will.

Hi R-e-n-n-a-t. What you call "magic" I call "supernatural", so let's use both words for the same effect. A prefect being could make something perfect in the beginning and then something could cause the perfect thing, like what you are calling altering of the gene sequences, to become imperfect.

I believe that science has proven that man cannot make something out of nothing, therefore, the universe had to have a beginning, unless YOU are saying that the universe is God?

First of all Stucky..didn't you do the "I'm Leaving thread" drama queen thing??

So to your opinion I disagree with you. Looking all around me I am of the opinion that should this godboy of the religious have made the universe he/she is one fucked up mofo.

There is NO "Intelligent design" that I can see.

Hi KichigaiNeko. Yep, I nsure did. That was when I was in my attention whore, drama queen mood. Today I'm in my hopeful mood.
I understand why you would feel the way you do looking around but don't you think that we, mankind, have ruined our world to the point it is today? What if it was perfect when we first started out and the more we did the more we ruined it until it is in bad shape like today?

Also, if it wasn't created, how did the universe come about (in your opinion)?

My friends on this forum call me Kichi (easier to type)

You are Bipolar then?? No crime if you suffer this affliction but it would help if the forum is aware of this, it will temper their responses.

Firstly there IS NO sin in my opinion and no right or wrong per se.

Your opinion is a valuable tool for you (is the opinion of this forum). Your ability to look at facts and question them is also very valuable ...but others have said this to you in other words.

It is my opinion that the world was never this "perfect place" the religious like to perpetrate on the gullible, it has always been a very violent place, full of change and challenge.

To say that 'mankind has ruined the Earth' is the epitome of arrogance in my opinion. We are OF this planet and this planet will do very well with or without us. You have any number of pre-historic events of extinction to look at for evidence. Complaining that "mankind has ruined this Earth" is the sort of whiny bleating I would expect from a three year old who has just figured out that Mummy and Daddy DON'T make the Sun Rise and Set. A rather infantile view in my opinion.

I support the current theory of the Big Bang (as the best model based on current available information) ...HOW the Big Bang came to be is another question and science is still looking into it. Some of the planet's best minds are working on this conundrum and I am certain that a plausible theory will surface soon enough. The whole of evolution is best put into layman's terms in "The Ancestor's Tale" by Richard Dawkins. You may not like the guy personally but he does have the science and a flair for putting that science into words that you and I can understand and relate to.

There is so much reading material out there that you could be perusing instead of a Fantasy novel from 1700 years ago (written very poorly I might add) designed to snare the gullible and uninformed.

Sorry Kichi, I don't know how to seperate the quotes like you do. So, be patient with me

Well, the psychiatrists call it moody, not bi-polar, but thanks for understanding. You are free to call me anything you wish, I promise not to rise to your bait anymore.

So, if there is no right or wrong then I am free to rape, pillage and murder then?

Let's deal with your anger first. You do nothing but denigrate me personally in every point you make, i.e. "epitome of arrogance in my opinion", "whiny bleating I would expect from a three year old", " A rather infantile view in my opinion.
". I am being respectful and putting forward my points, I don't understand why you are being sarcastic and personally affronting me?

I agree with you that this world has been been a very violent place, full of change and challenge, ever since man began. That is why it is in the state it's in today.

You say that you believe the "Big Bang Theory" but don't know how it happened? Perhaps that happened at the beginning of the universe because of an intelligent designer? Why not?

I've read a lot more than what you call a Fantasy Novel. Much, much more. And if it was so poorly written why don't you try to rewrite it?
Show it up to be "poorly written" and "designed to snare the gullible and uninformed."
