How fucking poor are you Americans that you can't afford to drive on a Friday/Saturday only 6 or 7 hours (or less) to have a cool AF American/UK meetup???

I mean seriously. Nobody's THAT poor. Religious people do it all the time - meet up with the like-minded. Save a few dollars a week and you'll have enough to make the weekend trip. Jesus people, you only live once. A hundred dollars isn't going to change your life one way or another in the long term, but it may offer you a memory to hold onto for a lifetime.


Whatever. I'm just saying that I'd be game to drive if I could get at least 5 Americans to get off their lazy, broke asses and come out to meet some like minded, cool people and shake hands with our brothers from across the pond.

Well Cinjin, given that we are now aiming to coincide being in DC with July 4th, that basically provides the focus for our dates. It should be something like June 20th - August 7th.

And yes, a massive Independence Day meetup in DC would be hella cool. My friend is a racist, homophobic fundamentalist catholic though, is that a problem?

A year out and a huge window ... nearly perfect, and yet I'll bet we'll be hearing nothing but excuses. If I can get 4 other Americans besides myself to commit to a date - you can bet your ass I'll be there for a weekend.

as for your friend - as long as he doesn't mind me poking fun at bigots and their simple minds - he can hang out as much as he wants. Maybe I can make some phone calls and actually book a little gig in DC. That would be coooool.
