If I'm in a bit of lighter mood, I have Joseph Campbell's "Power of Myth" as well as the "Tao of Pooh" from Benjamin Hoff in my mp3 player. I have somewhere around 180 books in mp3 format. This is easier than real reading for me. I have only managed 11 books, let's say real books of more than 300 pages, in the course of my lifetime. This includes the Bible (amplified edition... required for my degree in Philosophy and Religion). It was perhaps better due to the dyslexia. God was still a bit of a "prick" in the OT. Kind of mellowed out with the birth of his son. I think Louis Black noticed the same thing that I did, if my memory serves me correct. I actually made it through High School and two years of College without ever reading a book. I did not know that my condition was indeed dyslexia. A professor noticed it when I was typing on her computer. Since then, I have made an effort to overcome my "word salads". Writing is better now, but reading is a real challenge. Then again, I have managed to become fluent in 3 languages. Go figure? In terms of real reading, I'm quite illiterate. My wife reads about 200 books a year. Our house looks like a library. Sort of frustrating for me, but hey... you cannot really have it all, otherwise life would be damned boring. I have an open source link that I'll place here for those who wish to access audio books, most all for free. I have the link over another Forum that is currently under a renovation. I find audio books a great change of pace to music in my headphones from time to time. Meow! GREG

Well, if we're also counting audiobooks, I've been renting a lot of audiobooks recently. Currently, I'm going through the works of Papa Hemingway. I'm finishing "To Have and Have Not" (spoiler alert: It's nothing like the movie). Next up is either "Green Hills of Africa" or "Death in the Afternoon." I'm leaning heavily towards the latter.

If you can download the 7 part TV series they did with that, it's nice to see the imagery and Campbell talking. I really love listening to him tell stories. He gets by just fine. Incredibly smart, hilarious, and wonderful dude. His line is always "I do my reading on the toilet, therefore: Newsweek." I'd say the audiobooks are doing just fine for you.

The problem is that if guys aren't cocky and assertive, they don't interest me. The problem also is, being cocky and assertive means they're also pricks.
