The problem is there are so many Americans who are disgraces/embarrassments to all Americans that there preciously few Americans left who are not a disgrace/embarrassment to themselves.

Apparently, even xtians hate his sorry ass. It's facts like that that keep me from going off the deep end.

There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."

Yeah, but not for a good cause. They hate his ass because they don't think their god gave him the wherewithal to swindle the country into putting him into the white house to further push the back-to-stone-age agenda of the xtians.

Personally, I'm less worried aboit the presidency than I am about corruption in American politics and Congress.
Despite Obama's unpopularity right now, the pathetic sacks of shit on the republican nomination tickets love the idiiots that have no chance of winning and hate the moderates (and Ron Paul) that have the greatest chance of winning. I'd be surprised if Obama didn't get his second term.

If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~Ronald Reagan

It's not just us

So yesterday, I came to class to see a couple students watching the video on their laptops, and making fun of it. Then I got home, and found out that everyone is hating on that video on YouTube and Twitter. It has 192,000 dislikes, at 98%. Lol, I've never seen such a hated video! I'm so glad to watch Perry burn for this! http://mashable.com/2011/12/08/rick-perr...-facebook/

I don't really follow American politics, but maybe now is the time - it seems interesting. What are the other candidates like? Are they all like Rick Perry? Because if they are!

Apparently, even Perry's campaign can learn.

Quote:Whatever the case, Perry's campaign may have learned an important lesson. On Thursday, a new ad, "Repeal," hit YouTube without the option to like or dislike its contents.
