There is no evidence he's a racist. Even if he once was (and bear in mind he denies he had anything to do with the newsletters), he hasn't espoused any racist views in recent years. It's illogical to judge somebody on views they may have had at some point, when their views they have now are completely different.
People got very angry a few years ago when someone claimed that Obama wasn't a Christian, simply because he'd been raised by a non-Christian mother, and his father was an atheist. Whether he was an atheist at some point in the past is irrelevant; he is a Christian now. Whether someone was a racist in the past is irrelevant, if they aren't a racist anymore. I will suck it up and vote for Obama. As much as I dislike him, he's better than any Republican.
