Jesus was sinless, they were criminals who were being executed for their crimes. It took sinless innocent blood to atone fore your sin and mine. The difference between you and me, I accepted what Christ did for me.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

To put an end to the bloodshed he gave us bloodshed.

Surely god in all his infinite wisdom could have done something a little less barbaric and a little more convincing.

Man caused the bloodshed, when God kill the the animals to cloth Adam and Eve the skins covered their nakedness and the shed blood covered their sin. It's not that God couldn't have done it another way, this is what He chose, the shedding of blood shows us the awfulness of sin, even yourself says it'e repugnant.

Oh, the "man's fault" argument. We have free will but god already knows what we're going to do...

Begs the question of why he made that bastard snake talk in the first place.

Still, your answer says nothing about it being less than convincing.

To what end?

What God did was provide us a physical example of the Spiritual pain He endured to 'forgive our sins.' The reason the final sacrifice was so 'barbaric' was so we may know the level of pain/could phathom the cost experienced by Him.

If the shedding of blood is sinful, and Yahweh shed blood when he didn't have to, and demanded it on a regular basis, that means he was sinful. To say that it's ok when he does it is hypocritical.

What're you asking me for? It's god who supposedly wants to 'save us from ourselves' by sacrificing himself.

But GC, there were no Adam nor Eve. It's a story, badly written, means nothing, no morals, nothing. Let it go ffs.

I'm asking why would God need to do things differently, then I go on to explain why He did what He did.
