No More Anti-Theists

RE: No More Anti-Theists
If that's what you were taught, how do you handle a person who believes that it's his duty to kill kafir?  Nicely?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Bullshit.

I also find it amusing that you are taking issue with the term anti-theist, a term that quite specifically and with great clarity describes a specific view of religion, as a response to a query of someone's religious views. This is all very quixotic.
You can be a christian, hindu, muslim, atheist, fairiest, unicornist, apatheist, deist, habolobodingdongist, or whatever the else you want through in -ist onto. You literally can be ANYTHING accept a part of a organized theism, and still be an anti-theist.

That my religiosity, religious behaviour and religious identity are 3 separate yet complicit objects so although I hold certain antitheistic views, I'm no more an antitheist than I am an atheist. I prefer to look at it like this: my value systems are atheistic (they have an absence of theistic propositions) and sometimes antitheistic (they can lie in opposition to theistic values), my religiosity is irreligious, my behaviour is secular and my identity is Ben Davis.

When I'm being antitheistic, feel free to say so but remember that it rarely serves to reduce personalities to one-dimensional labels because that ignores people's intellectual complexity and is often patronising.
But I said not to do that.

It really doesn't have anything to do with organization Shuffle.  It's a single line item, opposition to theism.

In that organized religions are typically what...for 900, Alex......?

-The most visible and consequential expressions of -theism-. Do you think that an anti-theist has a problem with a godless organized religion?

Christian's can be against the organized religion of christianity. All you need to do to be a christian is believe that Jesus Christ resurrected. That is it. If you believe in that, but do not agree with christianity as a whole, they are a christian anti-theist.

But a theist is not a religionist. Take care not to confuse the two.

Not all theists are religious.
