Your daughter is far too tolerant and, possibly naive.
Have you watched the movie Jenny's Wedding?
I think you should.

Faith does not make anything real, except through the delusion one must encounter to accept something as real that has no evidence to support it as a valid realistic fact.
Faith is not reality, nor an answer. Rather, faith is wishful thinking wrapped in the comfortable blanket of delusion.

For one, my relationships with others are not based on a false one that first begins with a delusion referred to as god.

As for why get personal, I have many, many friends who are gay, and I have heard their stories of a lifetime of harassment from Christians, and the permanent fear in which they must live their lives because they are so often attacked physically, and don't know which of you will finally take the "kill the gays" Bible verses a little too seriously.
So yeah, I take it personally when you start talking about them as perverts.
Sorry, I didn't read your exchanges. But, for the record... i don't go around beating up gays, or even yelling insults and threats. Actually, I have a gay daughter that I love very much. And I have several gay friends that I am in touch with constantly. They know where I stand on gay marriage. We each have had "the" conversation. My daughter knows I love her and would do just about anything for her... except go to her wedding. i told her I can't go against my belief. She, and my other friends accept that from me, but not my belief. As I accept them, but not their lifestyle. End of story.
As for other Catholics? I've never, ever witnessed any do any harm, in any way to a gay person! My daughter, or any other friends of mine. Actually, I've never witnessed it in my lifetime. At least not from a declared Christian. And my hometown is not a white suburb dreamscape!

Perhaps the rate of suicide among LGBT youth, as they are driven to depression and self-loathing by the bigoted families (like those who won't attend their own child's wedding!!) and societies in which they find themselves?
Quote:Facts About Gay and Lesbian Youth Suicide
- Suicide is the leading cause of death among Gay and Lesbian youth nationally.
- 30% of Gay youth attempt suicide near the age of 15.
- Gays and Lesbians are two to six times more likely to suicide than Heterosexuals.
- Almost half of the Gay and Lesbian teens state they have attempted suicide more than once.
- It has been conservatively estimated the 1,500 Gay and Lesbian youth commit suicide every year.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

You are truly delusional yourself! You know nothing about me. None of my experiences. And you dictate rubbish that isn't true. WhoTF are you trying to convince?

If your personal experience brings you to the conclusion of god's existence, then that in no way reflects reality. Rather, it reflects on who you are and your state of mind, nothing more.
The only message I ever bring is one of that reflects reality. Those who prefer to abscond from reality tend to find comfort in fictions they call faith.
