I get the feeling from reading the news that Obama decided to do everything now, and shoving half of it in republican faces, is it just that when democrats are in power they can't agree, but when replublicans have the majority, they all unite against the common enemy...

Anyway i'm not american i just think this situation is either odd, or he's using something to do with closed congress to pass laws or something...

Maybe he's just finally gotten a clue that demoralizing your base isn't good policy or the Republicans have no intention of negotiating in good faith.

I suspect it is that the tea-party shitwits scare the republican establishment even more than they scare the democrats.

Not really. The tea-partiers don't seem like "skilled" politicians. They are only being used by the Republicans to get the public eye since the tea-partiers will gladly go along with whatever the Republicans say. The dumb-ass TP is only a hammer to drive in the sharp nail that is the Republican party.
